Weather made for a malamute

Quite a spring it’s turning out to be in the Black Hills. A week after a major blizzard we are having, well, another blizzard.
Snow is falling hard, the wind is blowing, schools are closed, Rapid City Regional Airport shut down, Interstate 90 is closed and everybody in the Black Hills is hiding out indoors waiting for the weather to improved.
Everyone, that is, except for Rocky (pictured) and Kody, my two dogs. Rocky is a malamute, and Kody is part husky. They love this weather. They like to sit on the deck and let themselves get pelted with snow. And they love to run though the deep-snow neighborhood at a full gallop. And since there’s no traffic anywhere, they pretty much have the run of the neighborhood.
For the record, Lead, S.D., has received 218 inches — about 18 feet — of snow this winter. And that’s not counting the latest storm.
