The Black Hills Travel Blog

The Singing Presidents Strike Back

Mount Rushmore, Black Hills, South Dakota

It’s enough to make a grown blogger blush. Jamie Rhein over at AOL’s travel megablog Gadling had some mighty flattering words to say about The Black Hills Travel Blog earlier this week, along with a replay of the goofy singing presidents. Thanks Jamie. You rock.

Of course, our shiny blog (or my dazzling ego) can’t claim to be the only target of her amity. She also had some nice things to say about traveling through the area, including a note about how impossible it is to see everything on one trip. True, Bill. For someone who’s never been to western South Dakota or eastern Wyoming, it’s pretty easy to dismiss the whole region as flat and empty. Relatively empty of people, perhaps, but not of things to see, clamber on, hike up, explore around, sail on, cook, eat or otherwise experience. And the Black Hills and Badlands certainly aren’t flat.

As for Gadling itself, you’ll probably find it to be a neat resource. Aside from discussion specific to certain destinations, Gadling bloggers like to talk about general traveling tips – like, say, extracurriculars for campers – that will no doubt be of interest to Black Hills travelers.
