Music, Food and Fun at Wild Bill Days

Glen Campbell

Gun slingers, BBQ experts, Wild West re-enactors, and well-known musical groups will soon be appearing in Deadwood to celebrate the life of one of the area’s most famous legends. The annual Wild Bill Hickok Days will occur on Jun 19-21, and there will be entertainment for everyone.

The Kansas City BBQ Society cook-off will offer cash prizes to some of the best BBQ cooks from around the country, some of the world’s best gun slingers will be showing their skill at the Cowboy Fast Draw Championship and a Firearms and Old West Auction is scheduled.

If the lure of delicious food and the skills of famous gun slingers aren’t enough reason to head to Historic Deadwood, perhaps the two nights of free concerts might persuade you.  Brock Finn, Moulton Jess, Jonathan Singleton and The Groove and Ricochet will all be performing. Headlining the concerts will be Glen Campbell, a Grammy-winning artist for songs like “Rhinestone Cowboy” and “True Grit.”

For a complete schedule of events take a look at Deadwood’s webpage and take a look at this release.
