Mobile Eatery Serving Gourmet Options in the Black Hills

Rapid City has numerous choices for a tasty and unique lunch or dinner, but some options stand out from the others. With a menu changing every quarter, NOSH Mobile Eatery has been supplying Rapid City with innovative menu items for the last three years. Gourmet food trucks are a recent culinary development that offer gourmet cuisine and specialty menus in a casual and easily accessible setting. These large trucks have on-board kitchens and act as a starting point for aspiring chefs that may not be able to open a traditional storefront as their first business.

NOSH parked at Founder Park, one of their regular locations.

Earlier this year, NOSH changed owners but local Chris Dale has kept the food truck running and the menu fresh. Current staples are the Kalbi Tots and Monterey Fish Tacos. The Kalbi tots are a boat of tater tots smothered with Korean BBQ sauce, shredded beef, and a cilantro lime crema. The Monterey Fish Tacos have a crispy beer battered cod served inside a cheese wrapped tortilla and topped with a cumin crema, slaw, and pico de gallo. They will be adding a Pig N’ Fig pork belly sandwich as well as a new Kogi Beef Taco, look for these starting next week. The truck will be open 5 days a week through the summer, locations and times can be found on their Facebook page.

NOSH’s Monterey Fish tacos come with Mexican Rice and a drink.

Throughout the summer you can find them at various special events, which they normally make a special menu item for and these will be listed on Facebook. When asked how he fits all that food in for a big event, Chris’ only response was “Barely.” They can easily serve around 100 people but north of 150 is very tough, and 200 is an absolute maximum.

NOSH isn’t the only food truck in Rapid City, and you will see many others throughout Rapid City and the Black Hills all summer. Keep an eye out for their culinary creations and try out some new food!
