Bull Riding

June 19-20, Rapid City will be hosting the Kody Lostroh Invitational. Never heard of Kody Lostroh? Well, if you’re a fan of the most popular event of traditional rodeo, you may have heard this name and know a little about the PBR. Kody Lostroh is currently the top bull rider in the world and a rider with the Professional Bull Riders, Inc.

For two nights, the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center will house some of the top athletes and animals in the sport, along with music, light shows and pyrotechnics. Flint Rasmussen, award-winning barrleman (For anyone slightly rodeo-term challenged such as myself, Rasmussen could also be called a rodeo clown) will also be at the civic center to entertain the crowd.

The Professional Bull Riders, Inc. was created in 1992 by twenty bull riders. Now the group has over 1200 riders competing in 300 PBR sanctioned competitions and has international ties with Canada, Mexico, Brazil and Australia.

Tickets are on sale now for $15 at the Civic Center, and can be purchased online at www.gotmine.com
