In addition, businesses, organizations and schools are encouraged to create and sponsor a scarecrow in conjunction with the Pumpkin Festival. The scarecrows will be on display along the streets of Columbus & 7th to Main. Participants must deliver their scarecrow to Thimble Cottage Quilt Shop on October 1, between 8am and 11am. Next year, I am SO deer-proofing my garden. That 1000-pound pumpkin will be mine! And THEN the deer can eat it, because I sure don’t want to be the one who has to haul it off. I don’t suppose pumpkins that big get to participate in the catapult contest…?
